Multi-State Policies

There are some special rules applicable to filing policies with exposure in more than one state.  The Division of Insurance has issued guidance on filing multi-state policies which is set forth in the SLA Procedures Manual.

When filing the Illinois portion with the Association, you should file the original policy and at least one complete copy that we will keep.  If you are missing the original, click here.  On the declarations page of the original and the SLA copy, you should note the "Illinois portion" of the premium and show the Illinois taxes and stamping fee.  When completing the verification slip, list only the Illinois portion in the premium column.
