ADRS Overview
The Accuracy & Documentation Review System (ADRS) was created by the Illinois Department of Insurance and the Surplus Line Association of Illinois to ensure compliance with reporting and record retention requirements in the Illinois surplus line laws and regulations. It examines on a test basis, a small sample of filings made on the Electronic Filing System. SLAI will periodically collect from members complete policies and endorsements on a sample basis to verify retention of documents as well as accuracy of data reported.
Members are required by law to respond and failure to comply can result in EFS account suspension.
Schedule
Reviews are conducted in March, July, and November.
A member of our team will email the designated ADRS contact for your membership to request specific documents. Please reply directly to that email, as only the sender will have access to information regarding your request.
Required Documents
You must submit the entire policy or endorsement document; not solely declaration pages or binders.
Requested documents must be provided within 15 business days.
How to Submit Documents
Submit your documents in PDF format. We cannot accept “secured” pdf documents or submissions on paper.
Documents requested as part of the ADRS can only be submitted by email or using our secure File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server. If the combined size of all attachments to an email exceeds 25 MB, our server will reject the email. In these cases, you will need to use the FTP.
Email Submission
Requested documents can be emailed by replying to the email sent to you and attaching them. Please note that the attachment size limit is 25MB. Documents can be sent in separate emails, but a single document should not be divided across multiple emails. For documents exceeding 25MB, please submit via FTP.
FTP Secure Server
The FTP allows you to securely upload unlimited documents of any size.
First, you must register for the system and get a login and password. To begin this process, send an email to ftp.help@slai.org (do not send documents to this email!) and request an account for the FTP. Be sure to include your member number when making the request. Our staff will create your account and you will receive an email with your login details and FTP instructions.
